I’m Back! A New Start and a New Garden – The Bohemian Kitchen

Hi all,

I haven’t posted lately due to life stuff. Long story short, my engagement to my ex-fiance ended earlier this year. I’ve moved back to Muskoka to be closer to my family and hometown friends. That means I had to start a new garden. Gardening is basically therapy, right?

I’ve been going through my photos of last year’s garden plot, and I’ll be writing a goodbye post for that soon. The highlight of the season was harvesting my very own grapes. I did have a picture of them after they ripened… I may have lost it when I changed my phone and phone number. Or maybe it’s on a USB key somewhere. Hmm. I’ll have to keep looking for it.

I do have photos of my new garden(s) in Muskoka. The smaller garden on the front lawn is where I planted a mixture of flowers and vegetables.

I don’t know if you can tell from the picture, but those are mostly peas, nasturtiums, green onions, and daisies. There’s other stuff too, but I’ll get into that in a separate post.

The main garden is located at the top of a small hill on the edge of the property, hidden behind bushes and small trees. I like to call it The Rock Garden.

I’ll be writing a post (or two) about both gardens soon. I just need to finish going through the photos, resizing them, and adding the watermarks. The rock garden was a huge amount of work (mostly done by my father), so I look forward to sharing the before, during, and after photos of that whole process.

And in case anyone is wondering, Eowyn is still with me. She helped me grow the seedlings in the spring.

And by “helped” I mean that she loved the heating mat and sat next to it all the time.

I have to get going now. Thanks for reading, guys!

Kat.
